Over/Under Rules
Can you predict whether the next card is over or under?
Quick Facts:
2 - 8 Players
5 minutes per round
Party Game
Objective: Guess wisely, and collect the least cash.
1. Goal
Have the least money after every round by not collecting stacks.
2. Set Up
Deal 9 cards face-up in a grid–these are the starting stacks. The remaining deck is held by the dealer.

3. How to Play the Classic Version
Moving clockwise, the dealer asks each player to point to a stack and predict whether the next card flipped up from the dealer pile will be “Over or Under?” the top card of the stack.
The dealer then reveals the card to see if they chose wisely.
-
“Over” - Player thinks the dealt card will be higher than the top card of the stack.
-
“Under” - Player thinks the card will be lower.
-
If the dealt card is the same and ties the top card of the stack, the player is safe.
Examples:
-
Player points to a stack with a $50 on top, and says, “Under. ” The dealer flips up a $10 → player is safe.
-
Player points to a stack with a $20 on top, and says, “Under.” The dealer flips up a $100 → Bust, player takes stack.
-
Player points to a stack with a $1 on top, and says, “Over. ” Dealer flips a $1 → player is safe.

If you predict the over/under correctly you are safe and it is simply the next player's turn. If you are incorrect or busted, you must claim the stack and put it in your wallet.
Play until all 9 stacks are claimed, or until the deck runs out. The round is over. If the deck runs out, unclaimed stacks on the table are not scored.
4. Scoring
-
The player with the least amount of money wins the round.
-
If there is a tie (usually two players with no cards) then both win--that's love over money!
-
Tally scores between rounds and let everyone deal once. The player with the lowest tally is the champion!
5. How to Play the Cut-Throat Version
Want a very rapid and cruel game? Follow all the rules of the Classic Version with this one significant change: Instead of being "safe" when you tie a card, you take that stack and hand it to any other player and they must add it to their wallet.
6. How to Play the Solo or Cooperative "Donor Version"
Want to play friendly with your friends, or just want a little alone time? Try the "Donor Version." The goal is to not bust all 9 stacks, if you do that you win. Next see how well you did by counting up all the money in these unclaimed stacks, because being good-hearted, you will give the money away.
-
Less than $99 = Lucky Donor
-
$100 to $500 = Big Donor
-
$500 to $999 = Wealthy Donor
-
$1,000 or higher = Mega Donor
P.S. The largest donated amount that we know of is $1,120. If you surpass that please let us know so we can update this fun fact.
7. Joker Options
Want to add some more spice to the game? Shuffle the jokers into the deck. Here are a couple suggestions, or make up your own!
-
$2 - If this card is flipped up, it is always safe, and it resets the pile to $2 for the next over/under prediction.
-
Pyramid or Eagle - If one of these jokers turn up you take the stack and hand it to any player. This is a mini cut- throat addition to the Classic Version, and is a turbo boost to the Cut-Throat version
